The ideal candidate will have a strong love for children's literature and a desire to foster a lifelong love of reading and learning among children aged 5 to 10.
This position is primarily responsible for planning and conducting engaging library programs for elementary-aged patrons.
Responsibilities include:
1.
Develops and conducts creative, educational and entertaining programs and special events for children and their families that encourage lifetime literacy, with a special focus on the PA Forward literacies.
2.
Collaborates with schools, community organizations and other agencies to promote library services and programs to children.
3.
Assist children with basic research skills, using library resources and online databases.
4.
Stay updated on current trends in children's literature, educational methods, and library services.
The ideal candidate will have an MLS (preferred), or a bachelor's degree in elementary education or related field.
This position has a starting salary of $15/hour with paid vacation, sick and personal time.
Some evenings and weekends required.
